My Story: Advocating for Change and Designing a Better Future

Hello! I am Peggy. I'm not just a designer; I'm an advocate for change, driven by a mission to revolutionize how government systems operate. This journey began in Taiwan and led me to the United States, where I realized my role as a global citizen. The transition into a world of diverse cultures, languages, and opportunities sparked a profound sense of responsibility.

From Immigrant to Social Designer

As an immigrant, I personally encountered the challenges of navigating a foreign system. These experiences ignited a deep motivation to advocate for change and participate in the design of public systems. My transformative journey continued when I attended the Social Design program at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore. There, I immersed myself in the frameworks of racial and social justice, laying a solid foundation of humility and courage to engage in the difficult conversations required for driving social change.

Crafting a Compassionate and Equitable Government

Following my graduation from the Social Design program, my career took me to Asian Counseling and Referral Service, a non-profit, where I promoted civic engagement. Later, I joined C+C, a communication agency specializing in multicultural communication, transcreation, and social marketing. Currently, I serve as the language access manager at the City of Seattle, working tirelessly to construct more compassionate, efficient, and equitable systems for immigrants and refugees. I firmly believe that government agencies have the power to positively impact every resident, especially newcomers.

My vision is simple: a world where every individual, regardless of their background, origin, or the language they speak, is met with respect and treated fairly by public-serving agencies, no matter where they may be.

My Offered Services

As a consultant specializing in language access and multicultural communication, my dedication is unwavering: to make government information and services accessible to all, irrespective of the language they speak. Here's how I make a difference:

  • System Design: I create holistic solutions that cater to diverse stakeholders, from administrators to end users, ensuring a harmonious experience for all.

  • Research: My research skills are the cornerstone of my work, allowing me to delve into the intricacies of public services, identify patterns, and develop actionable insights.

  • Content Strategy: Crafting meaningful, actionable, and relevant content is my forte. I make sure it resonates with the primary audience, breaking down complex jargon and adding context for effective communication.

My journey is a testament to the power of design and advocacy, and I invite you to join me in shaping a future where empathy, respect, and equality are at the heart of every public service.
